Day 22

Ash Wednesday

In the bulletin from this past Sunday there was a Lent calender with different suggestions to for each day during lent.  To start of Lent the suggestion was to draw a vase and draw a flower for everyday of lent and everyday put a new flower in the vase, and put in on the refrigerator for everyone watch Lent bloom! :)

So today I drew a vase and 5 flowers...so that means one day this week my craft will be drawing the other 35 flowers that I will need!

May God bless you during this Lenten season! :)

Day 21

Laddered T-shirt

So over the weekend I bought this really cute shirt!  The front was cut and "laddered", and I just had to try it!  Now mine isn't as cute as the one I bought but I'll keep working on it and hopefully perfect it!! :)
So I started with just a normal old t-shirt.

And after some cutting, weaving, and sewing...I got this!! :)

Day 20

Surprise someone you love with a Handmade Sewed Card!!

I'm spending some time with my sister at her college, so I have to get creative with the limited supplies that is available to me! :)  All I needed for this project, was some construction paper, glue, and a needle and thread! :)

I started by gluing the pink sheet of paper down, so it was easier to sew the design onto the card.
I just drew a simple design...I learned that its easier to sew the design if you space out the letters alittle farther then how you want them to be when finished, it gets tricky trying to squeeze in all your little letters :)

Here is my card!!  Just sewed the design on with a regular needle and thread! :)

On the inside I glued pink pieces of paper, the one on the left side covers the back stitching so you don't see it when you open the card.  And the right side is just there to look pretty!! :)

Hope you enjoyed this craft!!  It is super easy!  Just takes a little time...and patience!! :)

Yo-Yo Earrings

I took some of the yo-yo's I made yesterday and turned them into earrings!! :)

Day 18

Yo-Yo's

I just saw yo-yo's for the first time a few weeks ago and I think their amazing!  Today I decided to give them a shot and to my surprise their extremely easy to make!

I cut out circles in three sizes; 2, 3, & 4 inchs in diameter.  The yo-yo will be half the size once your finished.

Next step is to turn over about an eighth of an inch over from the end and stitch around the circle.  When you get all the way around the circle don't tie the string off...instead pull tight...the fabric will pull together creating the yo-yo!!  Now you can make a tiny stitch to keep the yo-yo in place!

Now you have some beautiful yo-yo's!!  Tomorrow I'm gonna use them in another craft!! :)  The possibilities are endless!!  I might try a hairband or necklace!  We will see what I come up with tomorrow!! :)

Nighty Night!! :)

Day 15

Ringlet T-Shirt Scarf

Got this idea from a friend!! :)

Supplies: 4 T-shirts
Scissors

Gather up your old T-shirts!! I used 3 different shirts to make the ringlets.  Cut the hem off the bottom and cut 10-15 (I used 13 blue and grey, and 14 pink)strips across the front of the shirt.

After you have cut all your strips, take one strip at a time and stretch it out, then wrap around your hand to make a ringlet....keep going you only have about 39 to go!!

Next, take the 4th t-shirt and cut it into 5inch strips, you will use these to tie your 'ringlets' together.

Tightly tie the ringlets together and trim the connecting strips.

    And Enjoy!! :)
