Day 87

Ruffled Tee

Start with a plain old t-shirt.

Cut from one shoulder to the arm pit of the other arm, but make sure
you measure how much you want to take off...or you might end up
cutting the neckline to low.  Also cut off about 2inches off the bottom
of the shirt and the hem of the remaining sleeve.

Use the bottom of the shirt to create ruffles at the neckline.

And there you have it!  From an old boring tee
to a shirt ready for a night on the town! :)

Peanut Butter Cup Pretzels

Ok...So I'm in love with making chocolate covered pretzels!  I also LOVE
peanut butter!  SOOOO Introducing Peanut Butter Cup Pretzels!!

Melt Hershey Kisses onto pretzels, at 200F for about 4mins.
While that is in the oven, scoop a few tablespoons of peanut butter into a
bowl and microwave for 30seconds.

When 4mins is up, smooth out the kisses.

And drizzle the peanut butter on top!!  Refrigerate for about
an hour, or until chocolate and peanut butter has hardened.

ENJOY!! :)

Day 71

Blown-Out and Silk Dyed Eggs

Keep seeing this idea pop-up on the internet so I gave it a try!!

Part 1:  Blown-Out Eggs
For this part you are going to need:
-eggs
-a push pin
-paper clip
-syringe or bulb syringe

Gather supplies and soak eggs in warm water for 10 mins.

Use push pin to gently poke holes in both ends of the egg.
Then straighten out the paper clip and use it to "scramble" the
egg.  Now the hard part, removing the egg.  I held the egg with
one of the holes facing downwards and put the syringe over the hole
drawing the end back to pull the egg into the syringe...this takes some
time.  Then when I felt I had removed all of the egg, I filled the syringe
with water and put the water in the egg to wash out the inside (I did this a few times
till the water came out clear)

Now onto Part Two!!

Part Two:  Silk Dyed Eggs
Your going to need:
-the eggs from part one
-100% silk fabric
-plain white fabric
-vinegar
-twisty ties

Gather Supplies

Wrap eggs in silk and secure with twisty tie.

Wrap the eggs with the white fabric and secure with twisty tie.

Fill a pot with water and 1/4 cup vinegar.  To keep the eggs
from floating I put them in mason jars before putting
them in the pot.

Bring to a boil and boil for 20mins.

Unwrap to see what awesome design has transferred to the egg! :)

New Life to Old Air Fresheners

Have some of the plug in air fresheners that
you consistently have to buy expensive
refills for???

Well you can refill them yourself for a
fraction of the cost!! :)

I got this huge bottle of scented oil at the Dollar Store.
Just make sure that the oil is safe to use in an oil
warmer! :)

Gently pry the lid of the refill container off...I had to call
in the big guns to help get it off! Thanks DAD!! :)

Refill and reinsert the lid and..
AHHH  Smell the Freshness! :)

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!

Melt Chocolate in the microwave till it is creamy.

Dip the bottom of a balloon into the chocolate till you have the
desired nest (basket).  Allow to harden in the refrigerator
for a few hours.  Pop the balloon and remove.  Now ya got a nest (basket).

I filled mine with little malt Easter Eggs!! :)
